third eye blind were big a couple of years before i started listening to music so i didn't specifically associate them with anything, but their hits are perfectly good radio fare, makes me mildly nostalgic

no way 'clarity' and the one before it are great
i haven't listened to either in over a decade but i'm standing by that

looking at the wiki i didn't even know jimmy eat world had albums before "bleed american", which i thought came out in the 90s

so, uh, amend that to say "bleed american the album" was terrible except for the "bleed american" song

i watch this pretty regularly.

considering the a/v quality, and the focus on Jim, there's no doubt it in my mind it's their a&r team putting together a little packet for Capitol to get some $$$'s behind making them the next big thing.

anyway regarding the bleed american album... it's a huge step down from clarity obviously, but they were really swinging for radio hits and they pretty much succeeded. still dig sweetness and a praise chorus. "hear you me" is some really saccharine shit though

Been listening to static prevails on a daily basis again. I've probably listened to that record more than any other record ever.

I'm learning drums atm, and even though i always "heard" the drumming, i never really realized how thoughtful and interesting of a drummer Zack Lind is

Cautioners is a good way to learn about linear drumming, you should mess around with that

what is it?? for some reason i think without ever looking at it really in-depth i just assumed it was a bunch of bass drum pedals but that makes no sense.

Haven't thought about this song since the first Bush term... the closeups of the singer have a John Darnielle vibe

yeah i always thought maybe it was stools or chairs or something but its apparently a photo by paul drake of snow on chimneys on a denver rooftop, turned sideways https://drownedinsound.com/in_depth/3036199-jimmy-eat-world-answer-your-questions

i remember realizing this when i was organizing my CDs back in the days when people used to organize CDs.

if i had only seen it as a thumbnail in proper orientation, instead of strewn all over my bedroom floor, i don't think i would have ever noticed.

i feel like that was probably around the time i realized how important mark trombino was too.
