It is definitely sad as hell but I'm cautiously optimistic that 1. he'll be energized (creatively / financially) by the upcoming shows 2. it sounds like he has more songs written 3. the new band seems to be working out (after a few false starts at recording this album).

I've listened to the album twice and I don't want to say "It's the best thing he's ever done" but it's absolutely in the conversation.

Incredible album, I love this man so much.

No idea if this is intentional but this is the second Berman related album to open with 'Well I don't...' with the music following the vocal.

“Snow Falls in Manhattan” gives me a Destroyer’s Rubies vibe - “dangerous woman up to a point”-y

this line is probly better than the last 14 Koz albums

Yeah but thinking about what you're going to sing before you sing it... that's cheating

Yeah this is really something. Easily top tier DCB if not his best work altogether.

Berman, in essentially slagging the Late Style, makes an incredible album truly illustrative of the Late Style lol

I thought maybe I wasn't generally sad enough to like this album, but 1/3 the way in and I love it. I love dave berman.
