Its Friggin' wild that Electric Eels produce electricity

We're quote unquote the most advanced species ever known to exist and we can't even charge our Samsung Galaxies without plugging them into a world-destroying power grid. Meanwhile electric eels are hiding out in dark muddy waters with almost no eyesight like Raiden in retirement but with the power to paralyze any grown-ass human fool enough to trifle with them.

oh shit

The electric eel (Electrophorus electricus) is a South American electric fish, and the only species in its genus. Despite the name, it is not an eel, but rather a knifefish.

Honestly, we’re fucked. They’re living out like hermits under assumed names with this awesome super power and all it takes is one fish to find them and convince them to get back in the evolutionary fight for one last row and then wicked humanity and all its hubris is toast

Ok what the fuck

Electric eels are also capable of controlling their prey's nervous systems with their electrical abilities; by controlling their victim's nervous system and muscles via electrical pulses, they can keep prey from escaping or force it to move so they can locate its position.

Or failing that if it's too late for me I'm going to adopt a child and leave it to be raised by electric "eels."

Watching Masterchef with the windows open like I'm one of those lazy future humans from Wall-E while Electric Eels are out there chopping wood and carrying water, growing stronger and more disciplined

you ever wonder why the machines in the matrix universe used humans rather than say electric eels or whales?
