Watching The Terminator

Health insurance rip off lying FDA big bankers buying
Fake computer crashes dining
Cloning while they're multiplying
Fashion shoots with Beck and Hanson
Courtney Love, and Marilyn Manson
You're all fakes
Run to your mansions
Come around
We'll kick your ass in

Haven't watched in a few years. Some observations.

I'd party at TechNoir

Sarah Connor's roommate's boyfriend does an admirable job fighting The Terminator

It was a mistake to not embed cameras into other body parts besides the eyes

i love the vibes of the scenes where Sarah is just chilling at her place

i used to always say t2 was better but my last rewatch bumped this one way above it

The fact that this is now a hugely successful franchise with a billion dumb entries kind of obscures how simultaneously lean and insane the original is.

T2 is better but this definitely has a nice grittier aesthetic charm

This one has so much better first half than second

Watching Reese and Sarah fall in love in a storm ditch and rat trap hotel is kinda tiring

When the criminal psychologist immediate pokes holes in the logical errors of the plot and Reese is like, uh, because reasons!

I think I side with the doc here

the fact that the movie is willing to engage the paradox of it all and frame it from reese's perspective as someone who's pretty out of the loop on how this is even supposed to work is such a brilliant thing about the movie and something i grow to love more every time i watch it

the assault on the police station would be the most insane event in real life if it ever happened, especially in this day and age. I feel like characters in thst movie world just kinda brush off how fuckin wild it was

i love how much time they spend developing the cops characters (well two of them) minutes before they're just effortlessly blown away

Strung out punk: Where are you going? Wha... what’re you gonna do?

The Terminator: I’m going to... terminate her.

General: Reese, I need you for something, an important mission

Reese: Anything, sir!

General: go back in time and save John Connor's mom

Reese: I will do this

General: Also you gotta fuck her and knock her up

Reese: Uh, that

General: Also make sure your John Connor sperm reaches her egg first

Reese: Earlier I said I will go this but

The Teemiantor: I want all of your bombs, your cars, and your jackets.

Grizzled, Scared Gun Store Owner: Ya want anything ELSE?

Terminator: Yes... [looks at wedding photo of Sarah Connor on the counter] to terminate... HER.

I mean is there anything else that would get someone to try time travel (other than winning the lotto or killing hitler)

i also like to think about how good a song "burning in the third degree" is and how well it works in that scene considering it's also very of a pool of songs they could afford to license
