Yea, the ketchup on a hotdog faux pas really only exists in my mind if you've got an otherwise delicious, fully loaded Chicago dog sitting in front of you (in which case you've already got tomato slices on it, anyway). I don't really like ketchup to begin with, but if it's all you've got to save a shitty dog, Image

Man what.

Hot dogs that have skin on them are the worst. Uggghhh just thinking about that gross gross casing snap when you first bite into them is enough to send me running back to vegetarianism.

Nathans offers both skinless and natural casing. Skinless is better suited for grilling while natural casing is better for steaming/pan searing. Oscar Mayers are vomit inducing.

Because a package of buns/hot dogs would last me 2 weeks, I have a system where I'll not toast the buns when they are fresh, then progressively toast them to higher intensities as they go stale/moldy

The only way to eat a hot dog is dunked in a glass of water and then inhaled in under a second.

it just seems to me that if a bread product is mouldy the correct response is throwing it out rather than attempting to toast it back into edibility

of course, you're allowed to dip them in ketchup when you eat them cold straight out of the package, but that should go without saying

To be fair, I'm pretty sure Bacharach's not eating moldy buns, just toasting them as they become less fresh.

it was raining outside so i just threw a bunch of chopped onions and hot dogs in a pan with some tabasco, smothered them in mustard, and then ate the goop with more bread

Yeah I'm not eating buns that are green. But you know they get a touch of white here or there, just peel it off and toast it up.
