I've been looking enough that all my targeted ads now are for shoe stores that don't sell anything that fits me.

yeah my best friend has v large feet that are outside the realm of what most womens shoe sizes go to and this is probably the hardest thing to find shoes for. looking at ebay/etsy etc. secondhand is what she ends up doing generally.

i took this post to heart

i've wanted a black velvet strapless dress since i saw sean young wearing one in the boost and when a vintage KRIZIA one came up on ebay in my size and with SNAPS (!!!) down the entire back i went for it. only $25 but still feels wildly impractical

had fun playing dress up tho

I got a sewing machine for my bday, lol. Haven’t sewn seriously since eighth grade when I didn’t pay attention to seam allowance and made my Britney Spears oops I did it again jumpsuit for the Halloween dance a size too small. While that was demoralizing, stopping sewing was more to do my mom’s vintage sewing machine being either difficult to operate, unreliable, or a combination of both.

Anyway, practiced fixing a hem on an old shirt I had. It’s ruined! But I learned a lot about using my machine. Next up projects:
- Vintage caftan patterns that seem like easy get back into it projects
- Dog sweater and coat patterns bc they seemed like they would be funny and a step up in difficulty
- Making my own pattern for a top

My personal goal is to make the A Little Bit Alexis dress, and my partner wants me to eventually make him a suit (LOL, seems unlikely but I’ll do my best).

I have a bunch of flat sheets since I only use my fitted sheets and figured they would be better to practice with than spending money on fabric for now. It also seems like it would be mad annoying to try and get fabric rn, especially in the city, and I’m not all that comfortable buying online until I have more knowledge and skill.

I’m going back into work this week but all the windows have to be open so I just have to wear a coat and scarf all day

Well the nice thing about buying vintage is that anything that's looked good for 50 straight years will probably still look good whenever you do get to wear it.

I'm currently miserable because even most of my schlub shirts don't fit me anymore (everything goes straight Barney Gumble over here, it sucks) so I have a rotation of like five shirts I can wear, plus bathrobes and sweatpants and fuzzy socks.

I want to buy nice dresses for later, so I can make myself feel better that I'm not going to have this fucking Violet Beauregarde Willy Wonka blueberry waist forever, but like what is my waist measurement even going to be in July?

bleh

i've been splurging on lingerie because that has year round indoor functionality, but it would be nice to actually go somewhere looking cute other than my boyfriend's apartment

I've been washing and wearing the same three sweatpants and sweatshirts for the last two months, so much so that the simple act of switching it to my Batman pj pants the other day caused laserblast to look startled and say, "oh you changed!"

It's winter and I'm cold and just can't find any motivation to be anything other than comfortable.

Some days I really mix it up when I have a client call by putting on a nicer looking sweater. Which I immediately discard when the call is over.
