I really hated the phase where I wore elastic shorts looking like a schlub all the time
my point was just that getting in shape makes all garments look better, including “bare minimum for not getting arrested for public indecency” clothes like said gym shorts
i don't really track my weight gain/calories/stuff like that but i caught myself in a mirror last night and i'm starting to look muscly for the first time in years.
really enjoying this whole being a muscular bro thing again. gonna go jogging without my shirt on tonight after work and see what happens
i really want to learn how to do handstand push-ups and muscle ups and all that crossfit kinda stuff but trying to develop those skills is a sure fire way to look like a dumb asshole
being able to handstand pushup without a wall will take a great deal of time. you could probably muscle up tmrw though with the amount of regular pullups you can do, just need to learn the movement, you're not pulling straight up but at an angle. also prop yourself up and do a ton of straight bar dips
if you want to do things the crossfit/easier way, you'll have to learn how to kip
yeah I def have the upper body strength for the muscle up at this point i’m just not sure how exactly to approach it on the dip station thing that i usually use. i dunno if it’s really even logistically possible to swing my way up there on it
i want to try a creatine supplement, but the last time i did so it made my face all puffy, which i assume is just part of the water retention, is there any specific kind of creatine or way of ingesting to avoid that kind of thing while still being effective?

it'd have to be the type of straight bar like at a park where there's nothing blocking your path above the bar. could use a chair or stepper to get up.
could even use a lower bar like at a children's playground and hold the bar as you jump into position
oh boy i went to the gym today for the first time in like 3? weeks and LOL! i mean it wasn't a total disaster because i been walking like 7-15 miles a day, but i'm not as good at not-stopping-fast-moving

was gonna go to the gym this morning but slept instead woke up and dicked around and then went in at like 6:30. just did 50 minutes on the bike since i didn't want to burn out before session tomorrow soo.. that's all i did today. i burned 370 calories though so that's exciting.

PT cancelled session today because she spent the long weekend at a music festival. don't blame her. so it woulda been day 4 in a row, but instead of doing a workout i just did the tuesday yoga session i was gonna miss to do the PT session so it all worked out. got a good sweat going. and she said that's good for an 'active recovery day' so i'll be ready to hop back in tomorrow and i'll have to do wed/thurs back to backs to get both sessions in this week. so by the end i'll be rockin a 6 day streak. and i think i'll do that friday yoga class and have another recovery day and keep that streak pumped. not feeling any kinda fatigue at all really from doing the multi days in a row although i did sleep like 14 hours on sunday. i just chalk that up to regular old depression and i'm sure my body was happy to catch up with the rest too. still eating PRETTY good. had that chocolate milk on saturday and then yesterday i had TWO donuts. and today i had TWO MORE DONUTS. i don't know why i almost lied there and said one donut when it was definitely two donuts. so this month i've had a chocolate milk and FOUR DONUTS. i am gonna stop having donuts. but to be fair the two yesterday i did burn off calories before and the ones today were after yoga so i rationalized. srsly though no donuts. good boy.

tonight i'm going to try lifting without doing cardio beforehand for the first time
i know that's the "correct" or "better" way to do it, anyway. but the only background i ever had for exercise was like gym class, which always went stretch --> jogging --> main activity, without fail.

maybe i'm wrong? we should wait for some of the serious jacked af shredders to come speak on it. but my findings always seemed to be that people claimed there was no point doing cardio type stuff before weights because all it would do is tire you out/lower your maximum efforts
It’s not the correct way to do it; the logic being that you’ll waste the energy you need to lift heavy and build strength, but tbh I think that’s way over emphasized and if you feel fine doing cardio beforehand you probably are fine. If you’re worried about it just put the cardio at the end.
