ktse is very good on first listen. i was uninterested after nasir felt pretty meh to me but i guess it was mostly not being into nas making me feel that way. but also he does a good job identifying and actualizing distinct sounds for the people he's working with and the soul sampling here works well for her

it's still ye > ksg > daytona > ktse > nasir for me i guess tho. i love ye and i have more attachment to pusha t than i do to teyana taylor. plus "if you know you know" is such a great track.

but like, that style hip hop, it doesn't matter who is on top of that production that album has no place on hipinion. see the 4:44 threads from last summer for reference

4:44 is so good.

I wonder if Kanye likes Broadcast.

This came on after Rose in Harlem and I just thought, I wonder if Kanye likes Broadcast:

The Taylor album is such a vibe. Really excited to live with this in different moods. Three listens in and it's reeaaaal nice.

Rose in Harlem and Never Would Have Made It are superrr.

yeah ye still seems extremely good to me. i find a lot of the parts that might seem dumb (e.g. the intro on i thought about killing you) very endearing.

i also think with a bit more distance 'wouldn't leave' was a smart way of addressing the issues with the leadup to the album that will age better than any explicit discussion about it could have. i'm not saying that he shouldn't apologize elsewhere etc., but i think the track does a good job acknowledging it as an event in his life that happened and using it for something else, and will be easier to take in the future than anything that took the tmz conversation as its real topic.

on second listen KTSE is extremely good. i think it suffers from the same thing that daytona did where it's kind of frontloaded. the first 3 or 4 songs, especially 'hold on', are incredible, and it makes me want to start from the beginning instead of going on.

maybe i'm just not familiar enough with the back end yet though.

i noticed today that the lyrics "keep that same energy" are sung in "wouldn't leave" and is teyana's album name

he's created a wyomingverse

Yeah I caught that too. There's references to all the goings on all over the records. He says Scoop like 3 different places.

its funny, my read of most of MBDTF has always been to see it as one big circumlocutionary apology - it didn't occur to me to read Wouldn't Leave that way until you mentioned it, cooly, but it makes sense and I think you're right

so i did not expect the Taylor to be my favourite of the Run but here i am.
pretty enjoyable record ... which can't be said of a lot of the material on the other records imo.
