i am still sad that you make your own character because the existence of ciri/yenn/triss/lambert/etc added so much to the witcher 3 and i wonder how...they give cyberpunk a heart without those sorts of relationships
also the big "CHOOSE YOUR CHARACTER'S TRAUMA" section during char creation, yuergh
every other part of this is exciting to me lol

I know it's a guided tech demo play through that is basically an Alpha demo but it looked so clunky, there was no smoothness to movement or actions performed. Its like everything was in slow motion.
THIS IMPACT WILL CONTROL ALL MARGINS

cyberpunk looks insane, like maybe too good to be true. I hope they pull it off. love the aesthetic and tone, the density of the environments and the way you approach missions.
i think the biggest thing that stood out to me was how interwoven the whole area seemed when heading down from your apartment to the street level. things are happening so densely on so many different planes!
plainman and i were saying that this was the first gameplay reveal since HL2 that felt almost like a watershed moment, to be just so impressed and hyped that all you know is that you want it

i thought the combat at the end looked extremely unclunky
the slow motion is a demo thing. when companies show demos that play through content too fast they get absolutely roasted by their audience and games reporters for being "too hectic" or "visually muddled" or "difficult to follow", so they have to keep individual actions very discrete

it was being played with a controller, I think, or just very carefully to avoid disorienting people (your brain smoothes out a lot of stuff when you're the one controlling). but the reference points for this are deus ex, bloodlines, looking glass games, etc., and none of those were "smooth" action experiences. I'd prefer the combat to feel more like those games than a traditional slick shooter.
There's a six minute video of mount and blade 2 that has all the classics: winning a pitiful but much needed amount of early game money in a boring 20 person tournament, chasing after small fry bandits and avoiding big fry petty lords, racing around unclear terrain to get around the back of 7 looters but your three LOW_LEVEL_FACTION guys on foot found them and killed them first because the computer runs right at the other computer, always.
In other words it's coming along perfectly and I'm so so excited
the Cyberpunk enviros looks like Transmetropolitan
you gangoons must be on legendary biggu doses of reve/real or majouⁿ to see "next level" gameplay in that, though. it looks exactly like every other (good and fun) AAA game in that genre. if it wasn't for the style differences it would be indistinguishable from a Deus Ex trailer.
the quotation marks, iamic. specifically to this post, i guess

Disagree, but it's more the environment, the world teeming with life, etc than gameplay.

i was specifically talking about the gameplay and dueling that notorious pair of gangoons marcus and plainsman
i agree the environment looks more exciting than any to date and with international space strange's observation that it looks as though CDPR "get" cyberpunk
