flipping the script, one of the best decisions Phish has made was to put What’s a the Use into regular rotation since 2015.. for a hot second I was worried it would lose something without its rarity but instead it’s hitting new heights every time I see it

Well there's lots of rarities that haven't made it back yet - My Left Toe for one. I feel like there's a bunch of songs I've written off hearing again because if they didn't bring them back for the BD they're probably gone.

Agreed on seeing what's the use in regular rotation. I love how much they've focused on the delicate quiet part too, and how the crowd goes (relatively) silent. Watching Kuroda go nuts on the centre lights at MSG last time while the band was near-silent on stage was really cool.

I dunno, I feel like they've done pretty well with bustouts and rarities in 3.0

Harpua is totally special.. sure they did it at a tour closer from 09-11, and it's made only 3 appearances since then.. its use is pretty consistent with how its been used since Clifford Ball IMO.. maybe that's just a bad example on your part that's not emblematic of bustouts as a whole, but I dunno... I'm still waiting on some (Paul and Silas!!!)

I like how they've been more sparing with Fluffhead the past few years. I think it only comes out once or twice a year now.

the Guyute "bustout" (first since Vegas 14) was cool at Portland 2016!

I dunno tho, with the BD being one of my most recent frames of reference I have very little negative to say about their song selection.. the way they've brought ASIHTOS, WTU, and Scents to this new show-highlight level, the resurgence of Simple as an era-defining jam vehicle, the most topically relevent Harpua in sometime.. MR FUCKING COMPLETELY.. 1999! I think they're sort of killing it

I understand where you were coming from, Guy, but I don't think that stands up to the most recent of stats, definitely more of a pre-2015 3.0 vibe as far as I'm concerned

I finally went to Federal Donuts today, I went close to closing time and came home with lots of free donuts.

The girl did not work there last year, and could not answer any of my Bakers Dozen related questions.

I was curious of how they did it. The place is tiny, and they were making a shit ton of donuts to send up to NYC.

I was also curious how they arrived at the donut flavors, did FD help decide? and did everyone who worked there have to sign secrecy forms and such.

All she knew was that the managers are big Phish fans.

and she asked if they are known as Phish Heads? And I said I had recently read a discussion about that (WITH MY ONLINE MESSAGE BOARD FRIENDS) and there was no consensus.

the end.

Ha, this interview explains the Boston creme fiasco - seems like Tom was eager to have that explained too, he jumped right into it.
