Back into skating too, rn. Weird how I have to relearn everything. Still just getting Ollies down and not 100% comfortable on a board anymore.

Still chickenfooting out of ollies on pavement/cement. I can land them pretty consistently on grass, but that's obviously not the point.

i'd say not to worry too much about that because it's natural. your brain is telling your body that that shit is unsafe. be sure to roll around lots, practice turning around both ways, and do tic-tacs and manuals in addition to practicing the ollie. as your feet develop more of a relationship with the top of the board they'll eventually get the gumption to stay situated there after you pop

Just rolling off curbs and ledges might help you get comfortable landing em

I said fuck it and decided to order trucks, bearings, wheels, and hardware to put on my old man board. Got some 169 mm Indys, bones reds, 53 mm Spitfire Lock-Ins (I guess these are new, they have an asymmetrical shape that's supposed to help you lock into grinds better and I need all the help I can get), and Thrasher hardware. The last of it was delivered today so I'm picking up a sixer and setting up the new board as soon as I'm off in 15 minutes.

Went to the local skatepark. Landed a front 50, back crook, back crook fakie on s foot high ledge. Got vibed by a scooter kid. Went to front Board the ledge, like just the last foot of it, stuck and smacked my head on the ground.

I usually just leave if there's two or more scooter kids mindlessly getting in the way. just let em have their fun I guess

there's actually nothing more awkward then being the one adult skateboarder in a sea of scooter children. but its hilarious too.

There were three kids, one of which was wearing baggy pink overalls. Like, dudes I’ve seen Cherry. One of them came after me and 5050’d the entire ledge while I was trying lol some things never change.

I think my summer goal is to do a long 50-50 grind with a cigarette dangling from my mouth

Sick. Gonna be so nervous the first time I head over to the skate park. I think I'll find a time when no one else is there

same...it's extremely windy here today. i still went for it on my lunch break and the session was honestly not very fun and was pretty frustrating. i'm still glad i went though, worked on breaking in new shoes, tried in vain to do things, got sweaty. i guess a shitty sesh is better than no sesh. hope you get reasonable weather to skate soon. the hpn skate contingency is strong right now

No but first board I've bought in like 15 years? Skated regularly between ages 14-18, I was OK. Best trick I think I ever landed was kickflip down a 3 stair.
