i've never really been to an indoor pop music show, but is the Bronson Centre not a fucked up place for this? do they de-install the seats or does everyone just stand in rows?
The seats in there seem pretty bolted down, like theatre seats, but there is a floor section at the front.
My 9 year old and I are getting matching shiny light up shoes for the show:
yeah, those seats look permanent as hell
after plumbing my memory i do actually remember being there for one or two shows where the audience was awkwardly tossed back and forth between sitting or standing, grudgingly rising in staccato whenever one faction or another decided to independently stand up for their favourite song and start a chain reaction. i've been reassured that my ticket for this is in the pit, thank G. standing in the rows was bad, and would be borderline intolerable for anyone ~5'10" or smaller, since you can't do anything to get an ang if someone tall is in front of you
We're here and they did take the seats out somehow. My kid insisted on sitting in the very back of the balcony (she found Taylor super loud and abrasive last year), it's so goddamn hot up here.
That was such a great happy life affirming show, so glad I got to see it especially with my daughter. I'll put this in spoilers but only out of an abundance of caution, it reveals one (obvious) song on the setlist and a thing that probably only happened at the Ottawa and Montreal shows:
Halfway through Julian she said "this song is about a guy from Montreal that I dated for three months. Julian, if you're here tonight, I have no actual feelings for you anymore, you just have a very musical name. Don't call me!" then right into the chorus, it was glorious.Toggle Spoiler
i peeled an eye for the flashing sneakers but didn't see y'all
the absence of seats totally confused me, because it had been so long since i was there i thought maybe i misremembered where they were in the first place
and yea such an amazing and affirming experience... so fucking queer and positive and totally enveloped by cute boys singing along and making fancy wristed motions into the heavens
The UC Berkeley expert I spoke with described your approach to boarding -- posting things without knowing whether they’re true in order to juice engagement -- as “sociopathic.” Do you have a response to that?

to be clear if it isnt, she still said he was from montreal in nyc iirc, so i think that's the actual story.
lol i love the idea of her being like "this song is about a guy from Cincinnati that I dated for three months. Julian, if you're here tonight, I have no actual feelings for you anymore, you just have a very musical name. Don't call me!"

Saw her couple nights ago in Kitchener. Fun to go to a show in pleasant Ontario. Small crowd. Band was great. Carly was phenomenal, just massive clear and sharp vocals for every song.
Julien with the full band was funk-rock.
The version offeverToggle Spoiler was phenomenal. Dying to hear it like that again.
And had as the encore let's get lostToggle Spoiler which was great.
it was a pretty big bus! i'm no expert on buses but off the top of my head it was about You should inquire about the amenities, which vary between tour bus companies. The most luxurious category is the Full Size Motor Coach. They seat from 43 to 57 passengers and vary in length up to 45 feet. These coaches are the Luxury Highway Coach.
