Surly says you're just working down a list so it doesn't matter and I know I've been absent a lot so I can't blame you but the inference drawn from that conversation is absolutely ridiculous

Fine well there's no point in playing then if you're saying that you're working down a list of who to kill and when you're next any attempt to argue against your firing is a goon move. Why not just speed up the game and end it in the next hour?

Well if you want more discussion of why you're suspicious:

I voted against cat and mr science.
Gramma voted against cat and mr science.
kaputt voted against lod only.
inspectorhound voted against lod only.
ankh voted against mr science and catullus.
kit fox voted against mr science.
fuckles voted against mr science.
landspeed has ghosted.

The way I figure, a goon is more likely to jump in on a vote against a fellow goon early in the game. As their numbers dwindle, its more important to try to keep each other alive. You haven't voted against any goons since lod.

That's a good point. There's not really anything I can do to refute that except to say that I've been missed a lot of the game

Going to try to speed things up so far as best as I can. Got a unanimous majority vote so far.

Papa leads the team in some improvisation exercises and group shouting before he gets to the heart of the meeting.

"Hey Corey, everyone keeps calling you kaputt around here. Is that a nickname or a description of what you are?"

kaputt has been fired. He was an employee.

Night 9 begins.

Today's menu:

Twisted Riffs Pizza (totally loaded with extreme pepperoni and sausage)
Sick Drums Pizza (basically the same thing, really)

ankh is the inspector.

So I asked a number of people about whether they'd be fine being next on the firing list. A couple happened in thread, but here are the rest.

surly [5:15 PM]
kit

[5:15]
you mind taking one for the team tomorrow?

kitfox [5:16 PM]
sure

surly [5:16 PM]
cool

[5:16]
(that would mean dying)

kitfox [5:17 PM]
right

[5:17]
I'm ready

surly [5:09 PM]
gramma

grammatron [5:27 PM]
Surly my friend

surly [5:27 PM]
gramma how you feel about taking one for the team tomorrow

grammatron [5:29 PM]
We're in a good spot with only one of them left. We obv can afford a few more employee firings. I would probably go to landspeed and insoectorhound first though, given that they've both been under suspicion for most of the game. That's assuming kaputt isn't the last goon standing though.

Twisted riffs was not poisoned, so if you are EOTM, it doesn't matter.

Day 9 begins. Lets go.

landspeed has been suspicious the whole game, as noted by many people. Check my voting record guys. I'm not a goon.

Landspeedrecord has been fired. He doesn't deserve the satisfaction. That gives a majority against grammatron.

A weary team files into the conference room, hoping that this will be the last time they have to go through this. Had Graham given himself up so easily? Although Papa still has the look of anger and fear that has framed his brow the last few days, it somehow seems mixed with a glint of satisfaction this time.

"Graham, I've got to say that I'm impressed. When you first applied for this job, I didn't think you were quite Papa John's material and said to myself that you wouldn't last a day here. That you've made it this far is not only surprising but actually a little uplifting. I've gained quite a bit of respect for you and am almost hesitant to fire you. But alas, I must. You've been driving away all my customers by luring them in with clever pizza names and then killing them with vile poison. Don't take this too hard, though, since in a few years, everyone here is going to be replaced with machines that automatically serve pizzas after you stick a few dollars in them anyway. You're fired."

grammatron has been fired. He was the final goon.

EMPLOYEES WIN!

Three months later

Papa walks through his pizza shop one last time. He is wearing dark sunglasses, so anyone observing him would not see the tears welling up in his eyes. Although, with the help of his team, he fended off the shadowy group of Transylvanian restaurateurs, he has now lost everything because of a series of lawsuits. First, Papa lost his millions from a class action suit for all the victims of the poisonings. Then, he lost control of Papa John's itself because of a wrongful termination suit brought on by Peyton. Combined with the fact that his precious Camaro was at the bottom of a swamp, and his one true love left him forever after being fired, he now has very little to live for. He's here gathering a few personal belongings before Peyton officially takes over the franchise. As he leaves, he drops his keys and accidentally kicks them under the deep fryer. Bending down to fish them out, he notices a tiny glass bottle. The only thing on the label is three small x's. He clasps the bottle in his hand, unscrews the lid, and takes a final look at the kitchen, thinking of the time he had it all.
