the lord smote Grateful Dead fans for allowing John Mayer to play his honkey blues in Camden.

(they only played a set and a few songs due to lightning on Saturday)

Man, the Sunday Morning from the Baker’s Dozen makes me SO happy :)

Waking up hungover in Brooklyn with my sister and my best friends.. my parents strolled over with eggs and bacon, and we all ate this leisurely brunch with bloodies, talking about what Red Velvet would bring.. I said Sunday Morning, my old man said Sweet Jane, and luckily we were both right!

We passed the day by taking the ferry to walk the Brooklyn bridge, stopping for a pint when our legs were ready for it, and taken by the excitement of the weekend, my parents decided to go to the show with me.. we had a wonderful spot in 113 right up close with the perfect view of Fish... my dad noted “Mike and Jon really are the ones steering the boat, eh?” while my mom opined that the applause going into the jam of It’s Ice was “because that song was finally over”

Enough time has gone by that im comfortable saying in several different ways that [i think] the Baker’s Dozen was truly the best tour since summer 98... it’s the one I’d want to see the entirety of if I could, it’s the one I’m fondest of emotionally, and I think the quality makes it worthy of consideration alongside Summer 03 and December 99, both of which I’m a HUGE fan of..

:D unbelievable weeks. Even the shows I didn't go to I would pass by the small group of campers every morning on 8th Ave on the way to work. As a NYC resident it just folded itself into every part of day to day life.

That Velvet Sunday was a great day indeed, I should know because I was awake for all 24 hours give or take a few minutes.

That first BD weekend was so much fun and yet musically it's probably the least great of the five weekends from Chicago to Dicks. If that's the baseline level of quality then it's an all timer tour for sure.

Fall 13, Summer 15, and Summer 17 are all on fairly equal footing as the best of 3.0 IMO.

We made it, phans.

(Not including anything from Jam Filled on the 'live album' is hilarious.)

That Ghost is the biggest head scratcher to me.

Even if they're saving Jam Filled for its own release (or whatever), why not use those 20 minutes for Mike's or Steep or anything from 7/26?

I am, but if I had to pick I’d choose the BD. More special, more unique.. I also couldn’t go to Magna, and Fare Thee Well Chicago was my summer highlight!

Phish just announced BD vinyl release.. I was at everything but the Chalk Dust!

the Sample should have made the cut.. the Ghost definitely not make the cut good compared to a number of other things

the LP breakdown is really weird... Roggae and More are each on their own sides... it seems like these were put together on CD first with vinyl being the afterthought, which is odd.

Yeah that box costs more than I'll spend on my fall tour this year. Really ready for the vinyl revival to settle down again - who's clamouring to spend $20US on a Roggae/More 12"?

It's cool that they're celebrating the BD, it was a huge and awesome achievement. I can nitpick this all day (why no video? why not Cypress box?) but if it makes some people happy then fill yer boots.

I'll probably download it and throw it on an mp3 player - like I did with the 30 trips box

yeahhhh I don't usually buy new albums or represses on vinyl, but the encapsulation of a shitload of jams I actually saw in person will probably override that.. that idea is too novel for me to pass up

this is officially item #1 on the christmas list

I like owning things vinyl, and to a lesser degree cds.

but when it comes to the dead and phish, i'd prefer mp3s. they lend themselves to pushing play and forgetting. and vinyl and even cds are an antithesis to that. Other than the sake of owning it on a shelf, I don't know why someone would want to own a box set that big.

it sounds like the tracks that ended up on the LPs are heavy on the selections that Mike is on record having really liked
